I read this book in about two days because I could not put it down. This is by far one of my favorite books ever. I love how there are multiple side characters that tie into their story and journey. From the beginning I knew they were going to die but I got emotionally attached to them and their friendship/relationship which made it so much harder when they did die at the end. The last line "I cross the street without an arm to hold me back" breaks me every time I read it especially when I think back to the part in the book when Rufus was going to cross the street and Mateo puts his arm out to look both ways for him and when he says that I think hes referring to Mateo which hurts so much more when you think of of it that way.

This book was really good and the only reason I give it a four out of five stars is because there were some parts that had me yawning and had me bored. And while reading I would have to tell myself it will get better so I could keep reading. And it did indeed get better so much better. There are a lot of side characters but they all play a role in her story. In this story you also see her grow and be independent and believe in herself which I think is really important.

This is such a beautiful book and my favorite book ever, i think of this as my comfort book. The book did start out a little bit slow in my opinion but then it got so much better. It had a lot of parts that i questioned why they added it in the book then I realized that it got tied in together and it worked so perfectly. Near the middle i could not put the book down it was so good. Once I was nearing the end I was preparing myself for what was going to happen, and even though i thought I prepared myself it still hurt so much. Even now thinking about it it makes me sad. I really recommend this book if you're emotionally stable for the ending.
