concerning the steelers/browns incident, i think someone needs to ask max where in the sand is the line drawn. rudolph gets hit by garrett and under NFL rules garrett should be penalized for coming down on him with his weight. rudolph grabs garretts helmet and should be penalized for some for of "face mask". garrett grabs rudolphs face mask, lifting him off the ground and ripping the helmet off, another penalty. MAYBE with his history a game suspension. now we have rudolph chasing him down, i say no punches thrown, just reaching for him (maybe his helmet?) and then getting whacked in the head with said helmet. and max wants to say rudolph is at fault? so lets play it out a bit further. lets say that instead of pouncy, former army ranger and bronze star recipient Alejandro Villanueva had rushed over, and say his army training instincts took over and he dispatched garrett with the efficiency we know he can. is that going to far? or far enough for you max? should he be charged? or is it still rudolphs fault for getting hit after the pass was clearly gone and driven into the ground? oh and hey max, if rudolph is guilty of starting this for grabbing garretts helmet, you just made the case for a 15 yard face mask penalty to become grounds for a suspension. so now we have a 5 yard face mask and a face mask that requires a suspension. Jack Lambert may have been right, put QB's in dresses, but since the NFL chooses to protect them and since there is pushing and shoving after some plays in every game (and its not a suspension or a fine) i think this crosses the line and garrett is in the middle of the ocean on this one.
