It was annoying the whole time he and she were communicating electronically. How can a grown man, I believe he said he was a chemist who before that was a teacher, but even if I got that chem wrong, he was still a grown man who was running and screaming like a little girl, even after it was known not to make noise or be too loud. VERY annoying. It got a little batter once they met materially and I did somewhat enjoy the movie after that point. It throws off what is supposed to be a good sci-fi movie into some sort of comedy-type, much like Will Smith ruining Independence Day, I Robot, and I would add many more except such movies were action and nothing to do with sci-fi or fantasy (but some of them should have had the serious acting than the clown and would have been better). When I think sci-fi, I want overall serious dialogue and acting (much like W. Smith in I Am Legend and After Earth) not someone who has trouble enunciating and plays a dumb role (it is likely the directors and writers and producers fault, not this actor because I don't think he has much power in how the movies should go [unlike W Smith who did and does and therefore I find fault in him, too]). As to the fires and no oxygen complaints in the comments, some fuels can burn with out oxygen. Also, maybe I missed it but, was there at least SOME oxygen in that atmosphere? Regardless, some fuels can burn without it. Also imagine advanced technologies ability to create more fuel's ability to burn without oxygen.
