Personally I feel that I could relate to almost every character in the story, may it be Yunus, Mulla Kasim, the Mayor or the insignificant Thief. But I could never come close to even imagining myself as Tapduk Emre. It appeared that the master had successfully, methodically and over several years of struggle, managed to decimate the otherwise omnipresent SELF. The actor (RIP) who portrayed his role was brilliant in his expressions, dialogue delivery and body language. Throughout the series, one can extract countless pearls from Tapduk’s interaction with Yunus along with his after prayer discourses with his dervishes. All in all, Yunus Emre, the series, is a fantastic reminder of bliss and contentment that exists in a simple lifestyle with limited worldly desires. In serving others, lies a never-ending satisfaction which cannot be attained by living a solipsistic life. And above all, having immense faith in the Almighty regardless of unpopular outcomes and happenings that trouble our lives..
