It was giving overall major Wattpad vibes, a girl and a guy end up stranded on an island together. You would've thought it would be a bit tense and nerve-wracking, but the movie never showed any of that. They treated their experience on the island as if it was some sort of romantic resort rather than an unfamiliar place that they were forced to be stranded on.
The beginning was pretty rushed and the delivery was not executed well, especially when it showed how the two characters ended up on the island in the first place.
Chemistry was decent, although it was a little strange how they got along quickly since it seemed like they barely knew anything about each other before they got stranded. I thought it would've been an enemies-to-lovers trope, but it wasn't. The story would've been better if their relationship took a bit longer to develop.
There were also a lot of plot holes that could've been filled to make the movie more interesting.
The acting was decent on some parts, but the writing seriously could've been WAY better.
The panther scene made me incredibly confused. They had been staying on that island for so long and never came across it once, but when they do, they're able to kill it that quick?
The characters had been stranded for what? About two or three months? And when they finally return, the scene comes across as if they had just gotten back from college or something. Their parents barely showed any emotion and what was with all the news reporters? It was just weird.
I have no idea why the girl started distancing herself from the boy after they returned home as if they both weren't stuck on an island together for two months... And then they're suddenly kissing in the rain at the end of the movie like their relationship had just suddenly been rekindled...
Overall, movie wasn't horrible. I mean, you could watch it and easily enjoy it, but it's definitely not worth more than two stars. For a movie that's all about being stuck on an island, it was giving way more romance than survival. Nothing really made any sense and it all just seemed totally unrealistic. That's all I need to say.
