Enjoyed Jules Levine… tried to confirm him and only found a Richard Levine entomologist!
Well played, that devil piped story line narrator doesn’t quite cast as a real life ‘malo’ character, least not as did Panama’s treacherous “Wild Bill” in Bocas serving 40 years for multiple murders! Just the same… an atypical accurate characterization!
Had wished the good entomologist survived dysentery to raise his jungle family as a tribe with use of Ivermectin to battle dysentery… it was discovered in 1975 and came into medical use in 1981!
It preceded Panama’s 1989 Just Cause Invasion that followed Noriega’s short reign after losing General Torrijos to a questionable helicopter crash where U.S. Navy Rodman Naval Station’s Medic joined the search for the General’s decapitated head that he located and turned over to Panama authorities!
Have to wonder if forensics could have determined the difference between a midair explosion vs a ground impact explosion… but then again; considering the regime who did the forensics can reveal what auditors and historians often do; they bayonet the dead, and as survivors tell their story line!
An enjoyably precise and scenic short story line within a real jungle canopy synopses played out realistically, even as if to imply discovering General Torrijos’ lost corpse that was actually discovered within a month and now lays entombed on Amador Causeway!
God rest his soul!
