This film certainly stands out from the rest of the franchise, and delivers a utopia of destruction. An interesting twist of Godzilla being some sort of amphibious sea serpent before coming on land and changing more into the Godzilla we all know and love. The slight change in facial look, and too many takes of Godzilla moving sluggishly, could of been better, considering the great effort the rest of the film has. A TON of human interactions from the hier achchies on how to resolve the threat, but they kept it interesting unlike the recent American Godzilla films, that are beyond boring with too much meaningless character building. Some say this is the best Godzilla film made, I cannot go that far, it had as much let down as excitement, but it is a better watch than the current U.S. versions. A modest 3/5 stars.
