I was really excited to watch this movie on Xmas w/ the fam. The intro seemed ok so I was looking forward to it but then...everything went down hill. **MILD SPOILERS AHEAD** The CGI was incredibly cheesy. I thought it was supposed to be like that for a few 89s scenes but it was so fake and unrealistic...basically glamour shots with no physics involved. The story arc for Kristen Wigs character made absolutely no sense. At what point did she turn evil? It happened so quickly and it’s because there were 2 villains at the same time they were trying to introduce. Why not just choose one and then flesh out the story better? Also, the child looked nothing like Pascal. If you’re going to have an Asian son, please show an Asian mom because I didn’t buy it for a second. Who was watching him the whole time? Was he buy himself while his dad was going crazy? Like how was the budget so big and so terrible for this movie. It’s like DC only focuses on casting and not story development. Good thing Pixar’s Soul movie was out at the same time because that redeemed the movie night. DC, if you read this, please work on your story and character development because this movie was insanely bad. Everyone I’ve talked to about it who watched it separately said it was a complete waste of time and I whole heartedly agree. Take note from The Dark Knight Trilogy and HBO’s Watchmen Series as those were major successes from the DC franchise.
