Just about the only Good News these days is coming from the wonderful, self-deprecating John Krasinksi. He not only presents delightful events that have occurred during week, but he makes some pretty damn good news himself. In one, he introduces his wife, the effervescent Emily Blunt, who proceeds to banter with her co-star in Mary Poppins Returns, Lin-Manuel Miranda. But the real reason he is there is to say hello to a stunned little girl whose much-anticipated trip to New York to see Hamilton was cancelled. Then, to top it off, the entire cast appears (via Zoom, of course) to serenade her. Even better, John brings a group of doctors and nurses from Boston's Beth Israel Deaconess CoVId unit (big Red Sox fans) to Fenway Park where they take the field, where they are greeted, and applauded, by the entire team, as well as the Mayor and the Governor -- via JumboTron, of course. A tremendous, and much-needed, gift of humor and compassion in this appalling moment of history. Too bad our so-called prezident cannot muster up any such good will and generosity. He should watch this instead of fox news.
