Watched handmaiden and expected this film to be really good. However, I would say it was kinda disappointing. The plot lack lustre. Like why was the older priest even condoning the ML’s act and asking for the vampire blood himself? Also why was the ML abusive towards the FL after he killed the husband for the same reason. For the FL, she’s like murderous but at the same time she is taking care of the mother although she has ALOT of hatred for her. I mean I get that she is trying to torture her but when she was so sick and needed blood, she did not even try getting it from the mother perhaps without having to kill her (to Torture her further). However, the cast definitely showed great acting chops especially the two leads. FL acted pretty crazy after she became a vampire and the ML did try to portray the struggle in trying to not sin vs having to survive through killing someone. The mother also acted really well especially when she had the “stroke” and could only act through facial expressions and eye movements

Film is definitely way above its ratings. Storyline was easy to follow and there was a good plot twist. Overall, it was a good and interesting film.
