The game doesn't take itself too seriously where many characters poke satirical fun at the genre while still being able to maintain a rich story with great characters. The game feels very crono trigger with all the right vibes. The 8 bit graphicesqu display with full color array combined with the rich 3d environment make for a nice combination of modern and retro. The battle system is engaging while not overly complicated, the system still has enough charm to keep you immersed . It has been a long time since I've played a turn based game original enough to keep me engaged as still offering a nostalgic feel. Great job sabotage studios.

Honestly I would've rated this game a little higher the idea and concept is great and the game itself runs very well. The reason for the one star rating is simply because of the one island per CONSOLE limit. It's bogus that my gf is not able to play and experience the game in it's full entirety without having to just pick up the scraps from her daughter's gameplay. Having to share the loose non story world and having to just pick up where the other leaves off having to tromp through the ever cluttered mess of her daughter's littered island and not being able to fully enjoy the experience without having to fork out another three hundred plus dollars for a new console is absolute hogwash. Extremely disappointed. I expected better.
