A tremendously great film about the bond between a father and his autistic son who struggles to interact with the world around him but for the creativity of his father who uses science and adventure to tap into his son, causing his son to slowly expand his boundaries by exploring all of NYC. All this is happening while the son and mother both grapple with the murder of the father on 9/11. The son goes on this journey in an attempt to be closer to his father, all the while he ends up finding himself.

Great movie! I wonder how it did at the film awards. The actress who plays Starr Carter does amazing work! This movie breaks down cultural barriers by giving white people an inside look at the black experience with police officers, and Common's performance shows the view from police officers, about why and when some officers shoot, and that biases play a role-even portrayed by a black cop. Amazing acting all around and extremely well written!
