Season 1-5 are great with all the drama you could ask for. The story keeps you interested. Season 6 slumps and isn't that good, honestly half of the show is wasted on something I personally believe shouldn't have even happened. Wont say what because it spoils the show. Season 7 and 8 pick up the slack, however, and by the end of season 8 you can't wait for the next episode.
