Unlike Crime and Misdemeanors, where comedy and drama intertwine seamlessly, Wonder Wheel struggles to find its rhythm. Winslet often feels adrift from the script, as if performing scenes disconnected from the film’s emotional core. Still, even at his most uneven, Allen remains watchable for devoted fans. ★★½

I suffered through it because I wanted to see why RT has given it such a high score. Suffice it to say the project is better suited for a school play. The plot is thrown together quite haphazardly and it's made up of old Jewish tropes and cliches. Even if it's bringing up issues about gender identity, family dynamics, or just making general social commentary, it does a poor job doing it. I gave it one star for its brevity.
