A great story doesn’t need to have a “satisfying” ending.
In my opinion this is an excellent, boundary pushing follow up to my favorite game of all time. The way the story unfolds was certainly unexpected, and even had me a bit angry when certain character changes happened. But after surrendering to the unexpected and uncomfortable twist, I realized naughty dog was telling a story unlike any other in video game I’ve played. The game is brutal, raw, and depressing at times, but it is an epic work of art. This game challenged me emotionally and morally, more than I could have ever expected. Overall I’m left with an appreciation of the story naughty dog bravely told. It’s apparent many are upset with TLOU2, but I think that’s a testament to the boundary pushing nature of this game. Be the light in the darkness!
