Anyone that has kids would understand this movie. Telling the story of a family torn by war and a father trying to get back intouch with his paternal instincts so he can relate to his son. Also it tells a bigger picture of our Earth and what is going to happen if we keep living the way we are now out of balance with the Earth. As you see when they colonized the new planet the lived minimalist lives and with the planet to have an almost zero carbon footprint. So if there is anyone that cant relate to this movie and story it tries to tell, you need to stop and re-evaluate yourself and life choices. You may be what is causing the world's problems in the first place.
