It's a strange game to remake really. As far as I can make out, all the puzzles and mechanics of the game are exactly the same, just the graphics updated and in fairness, it looks absolutely stunning. I've just finished it and although obviously I knew the ending, it hits you like a brick, achingly sad. If it was the price of usual games, I'd say don't bother, but for £15.99, with the wild storyline, gorgeously updated graphics and the same bizarre controls, go for it. Unless you like happy endings... If you don't mind feeling totally bereft at the end of a game. 😞 Seriously, pretty grim. Going to go in a corner and cry now.

Love this game! Yes it deeply pushes an environmental message, but it does so in such a beautiful, artistic, melancholy way. There's an overall theme to the art, but each section has a different feel to it, with some absolutely stunning vistas throughout, and introduces a game mechanic unique to that area. Plus the fact that it really does get its message across whilst also being a really good, viable game, is a great achievement. It isn't a particularly difficult game but that isn't its point, not all games have to be at "get gud" velocity, games are created for chilling out after all and this is perfect for that, the music complements that with soothing ambient style electronica that effortlessly switches up between areas. The combat that official reviews moan about is ok, again, very easy and not challenging, no complex system of combat whatsoever... fine by me. It doesn't matter for this game. Some of the platforming can be mildly challenging and it does give you a run for your money from time to time, but nothing that can't be achieved eventually. If your gaming style is a couple of hours at night, after work, to wind down, perhaps with a glass of wine, this game is your best friend. I can see me playing this a lot (100% completion! Haven't done that for years!) it's just so peaceful and pretty. Lol. Anyways enough gushing.

This is Nier to me, this is where I came in! The original version that I played was an older Man called Nier and he was protecting his daughter. I've read that this version with a younger guy was only released in Japan. I loved the original of this game back in the day and it's interesting to see it reimagined.

It's certainly not for everyone. The whole film has the strangest atmosphere... As some have pointed out, the acting can seem pretty wooden, but I think this is intentional. Everything in the film is somewhat robotic from the off, including the very clinical and cold environment these people work in. The soundtrack is deeply unsettling and seems to have no basis in what the film is about, but it's this very soundtrack that makes the atmosphere so tense. I enjoyed the premise of the film, the slowness and the lack of much actually "happening" is refreshing in these days of big budget films where everything has to be action all the time. Go in with an open mind and you might enjoy it. If not, I can assure you you've seen worse.

I actually really liked it! Laverne Cox does a good job as Frankenfurter, the songs are slightly modernised here and there and very enjoyable. Everyone pays their roles well One star off because the screen regularly goes black, I presume it was for advert breaks or something, but it's very distracting and annoying.
