I had looked forward to this film, as I have a strong interest in Irish history and have visited the beautiful locations. But it was utterly depressing, pointless, and brutal. There was no redemption, no joy - and the allegory to the Civil War (friends fighting for no reason and hurting themselves terribly in the process) was incredibly clunky and overdone. The only likeable character(the sister), leaves. I was wondering if she was supposed to be 'the British' in the allegory - in which case I hate this film even more. Oh and the cute miniature donkey dies, choking on the self severed finger of the man who dumped his friend for being boring. I had terrible dreams for two nights after watching.

Funny, sweet, and clever, suburban legal comedy. Terrific cast, and enough legal realism for the lawyer audience.
