Pretty much gets rid of all the classic elements you love in the original Instead of working hard to succeed embodied by the 'be a man' song this was replaced by qi - you can only succeed if it was predestined by some magical force...wait this sounds a bit like it was recycled from the new Star Wars Trilogy The loveable/comical characters have all been replaced with loads of CGI for a stereotypical chinese action film - these can be entertaining, but if I wanted that I would watch Red Cliff with it's developed innovative plot complete with character development and proactive heroines who work with their male counterparts as opposed to this weird trend of making feminism less about showing men and women as equals, but women as superior to men I was looking forward to this and sorely disappointed
