I watch all the baking championship shows for years.....I am becoming disappointed. It seems to me that the final decision on who makes it to the next round comes from Nancy and Duff, ignoring the facts they have just discussed from tasting the bakes but making the decision on who they like better. Why would it be a question of whether to go with a delicious bake (Sharrod) vs one that is raw (Javier)? The second example is macaroons that are not quite the shape (Sharrod) vs. not being macaroons at all (Justine) ]which was stated by Duff. Carla had to interject and say, the assignment was for macaroons, not tiramisu. There should be blind judging. Meaning the judges should not know who baked the dessert to go on to the main heat challenge. Similar to the "Beat Bobby Flay" show. And what's up with Nancy and Jesse's (mother/son) relationship? Jesse should not comment on bakes as he is not one of the judges. I also agree with another comment someone made regarding Javier's immigration struggle vs Jesse's Canadian immigration journey comparison. Tone-deaf! Boo!
