This book was interesting and definitely gets you thinking. If you are in a tough place it gives you a lot of prompts to challenge you and help you prepare for change. However, I went into this book thinking it would focus on the strength and guidance God gives us through his mercy to get through the messiness of life. Although it did mention God a few times, it was very self-based and portrayed God as more of a tool than our Lord and Savior who is the only one that can lead us out of the darkest places. Therefore this book is almost entirely philosophical and intellectually intriguing rather than speaking Christian truths. I still enjoyed some quotes and lessons in this book, I just feel that the importance and necessity of the Lord in our lives was not accurately portrayed.
