Having had four home births myself, I take issue with the horrible depiction of midwifery in the modern age. First and foremost, a licenced midwife NEVER attends a home birth alone -. never. There are always at least two midwives in attendance. Secondly, midwives carry oxygen at all times. The movie has a great subject matter, and the acting as superb, however to show home births and the art of midwifery in this light cheapened the entire movie. I understand the filmmaker wanted raw emotion and high intensity pain. But to blatantly misrepresent home births like this is the real tragedy.
