As a true lover of the TV series of Downton Abbey I was at first put off by a professional reviewer noting that the movie is mainly about the shenanigans of the servant staff trying to outwit the staff who travel with the royal couple on their tour of England. The movie, in actuality is much more than that. It takes the next step in the lives of Tom Branson, Lady Mary, Lady Edith, Thomas Barrow, Daisy/Andrew. Let’s not forget the continued mishaps of the endearing Mr Mosely.....and could there be a future for this Footman once Butler and the empathic Miss Baxter? I do not wish to spoil the movie for those about to see it but it is suffice to say that the movie may very well put a smile on your face and leave you with a welcoming feeling of satisfaction. This movie has under promised and over delivered. A movie mainly concerned with the shenanigans of the Abbey’s servant staff? I think not! Go see it you will be pleased.
