Psycho works both ways - as a crime investigative thriller and also as a philosophical movie exploring broader themes like sex, violence, compassion, etc. This movie is definitely not for the faint hearted as we see heads cut off from the body and blood in most of the scenes but the violence is part of the story. There is Myskin's stamp everywhere like the tracking shot at the station and the god's view of a greiving mother. The interest and suspense is sustained till the very end which make the terrific climatic portions even more special. The scene where Gautham drives the car with help from Kamala( fantastically performed by Nithya Menon) with the 'Neengamudiyuma' by the maestro playing in the background is simply extraordinary. I can't help but laugh when Kamala screams ' dei ..roada paathu ottuda' to the blind Gautham. There are direct and indirect references to Buddhism, Hinduism and Christianity and lot of metaphors which make the film viewing a rich experience. Rajkumar is simply outstanding as the menacing serial killer and udhayanidhi does a good job as a blind musician. This movie is not as emotionally touching as Pissasu but still lives upto the Mysskin standard of filmmaking.
