The story may have transtioned badly to screen, but I had to stop mid episode because I couldn't take the main character's stupidy anymore. The final straw was when she invited her dysfunctional family to the one home she finally found in a good neighborhood that had clean and healthy conditions. Maybe she couldn't forsee the obvious disasterous results, but once the guests began to drink and call in weed dealers, she verbally protests, but does nothing. If this woman cared at all about her daughter's well being, she would have called the cops to have them removed from the property. I understand the character is young, but I couldn't grasp my head around her weak decisions, not to mention the prideful ones. For someone with so many flaws, her unforgiving nature toward her father was incomprehensible. I just couldn't sympathise anymore.

I tried watching on Netflix and had a heard time making it past the second episode. I found the relationships unbelievable and at least two of the main characters unlikable. The antics were forced and annoying.

Why is it that the female lead character is supposed to be smart yet doesn’t know enough to password protect her phone or close her blinds when she lives in a first floor apartment in NYC? The show has the potential to be really good, but I have a hard time getting past the stupidity of the main character.
