Let's try to be fair here,
the pink panther films have gone from enjoyable comedies, to disappointing attempts in the 80s. this is cleary trying to be a hardcore knock off of a classic cartoon character.
well that's odd,
i don't see Robert Wagner, or Joanna Lumley, in fact i see the other actors from the other films phoning theirselves in, so how does this
make any doggone panther sense!?
we don't need to see a corny knock off of these characters, we see be taken litterally this is an example of not being taken litterally none whatsoever,
as bad as curse of the pink panther was, it at least tried to be like a actual pink panther.
this is corporte cash in of a sucessful cartoon. and in with that said it's not even a good cash
in. everything in this either a diet version of the 1st film, or just father & son humor, all delivered lazily.
it's like if hot shots was a spin off of top gun, and heck i really like that, since Hot Shots is a parody and it's funny. it's more like if Airport was a spin off of Airplane.
Every second is slap in the face to one of the coolest cartoon characters ever made, and you can tell the filmmaker were barely even trying. considering Inspector Dreyfus marries... you know who.
the one thing the film has to offer is that opening sequence is very well done, it's not as good as the other films but Bobby Mcferrin and his group do a pretty decent job at it.
but apart from that, it's a dreadful experience, it's hard to say if this is the worst pink panther movie ever made, but it's easily the worst pink panther sequel of all time. Especially when using the same actors for something that clearly dead on a rival. how on earth would this have worked? who thought this was a good idea? all i can say is that this is a pathetic film to watch.
