As a woman in the age group depicted in the movie I found it very compelling. On one hand I felt grateful for my home and family, but on the other I was drawn to Fern's journey, wondering if I am missing something.

Terrifying, horrific, and a familiar evil pattern bubbling to the surface again.
I am from Indiana and thought I knew the history of the Klan but this book blazes like the crosses the Kluckers burned into the Hoosier landscape.
Should be required reading for every American. Read it before it is banned.

As a person who loved this movie as a child, I was not sure about a remake...but if you loved this movie and the wonderful music, Spielberg has added lovely elements that the original creators should approve. It remains heartbreakingly lovely and relevant.
