I've never been too fond of Aronofsky's works and this no exception. The Black Swan being the worst. It's takes 117 minutes to get "honesty" in writing, across. To put a morbidly obese apparition as a central character to give it depth is laughable. Couldn't finish it.

What were the producers and directors thinking? What lured me was the cast. I guess actors have to work regardless of the content. Pure Schmaltz. Silly overwrought and much to long. About an hour. It had no cohesiveness. It was a strung out series of devastation, panic, hardly seen aliens and confusion. I killed before the end.

I have the dvd's. Never watched it on t v. It's lively, with a tiny touch of the macabre. It doesn't have involved convoluted plots. The banter is sharp between all the characters. I've always considered Angie Harmon to be a natural. Sasha Alexander was born to be Maura. Too bad it was killed so soon.

Boring. Unrealistic. Read the book. It's well written. However, no one really knows what happened on the boat since there were no survivors. Predictable even if you're not familiar with the story. The brief relationships scenes are meaningless. Ho hum.

Although good actors Neeson and Ford are not convincing Russians. I would have preferred actors that could actually pass as Russians. I lose interest in these Hollywood stars being so miscast just for their name. Streep in Mamma Mia. Hathaway in whatever. My favorite filmmaker is Cedric Klapisch. He often uses people that aren't actors at all with surprising results. He put Karen Viard in the leading role in My Piece of the Pie. She had never acted before. You would never know.

In one word, ridiculous. Unbelievable scenario. Deep in jungle, in a an unsurvivable storm the next day nice clean crisp clothes No wonder it didn't make a profit.

A schmaltzy weepy. Too predictable. Ali tries her best but she was a way better model. Her delivery was too forced. Milland and O'Neil are seasoned veterans.

Meh. Theron's not terribly believable. Except for the messy shag haircut, she's exquisitely made up. She takes a few the the face, she's bloody but not a bit of swelling, perish the thought. The film is slow moving. There of course is the requisite gross out scenes, swearing, and liberties taken with the courtroom segment. It doesn't have the tension of Silkwood, nor the in your face determination of Brockovich. It's dismissable. The location scenes and sets were well done, hence one star.

The legend. It surely deserved it's awards and accolades. Absolutely fabulous in every way. Aside from the numbers, all incredibly well done there is a chilling mood of what's to come. I still get shivers from the final scene.
