The film ends with “you have your own journey” by Laura’s father. Laura has finally discovered her truth and can now live it with her children and husband. It’s a film that majorly centres around the female experience - how it transpires - during marriage. The male side of it is there but is not as dominant. Laura letting loose through her father as a catalyst for the experience, she can finally go back to what drives her to enjoy life. She fled NY with her father to Mexico to symbolise a rebirth of sorts. After this rebirth we see Laura working at home in one of the final scenes, with colourful post it’s stuck on the paper to symbolise her final happiness. It’s very personal and raw, a vehicle for all of us to have a look at our own lives - what makes us happy and how we can get there.
