I only gave this game a 3 instead of what would have been a 5 because truth be told I actually LOVE this game but interestingly enough I HATE the main premise of the game, which is to kill other pirates and take their loot or apparently just kill them and sink their ship even if they haven’t gotten any loot at that time. Overall gameplay from a mission based standpoint is fantastic!! I LOVE the amount of detail that goes into it and even tho some of the graphics are a little cartoony, a lot of it is actually pretty realistic, both in aesthetics AND functionality. That being said, I really think there should be an option for people who JUST want to go and do the missions to be in a separate arena or something. One option for people who want to be cut throat, and one for people who just want to do the missions and if u DO attack other players u get kicked out. To keep the challenging aspect up I don’t mind there being Kraken’s, Sharks, Storms, Bosses etc. but it’s EXTREMELY annoying when I’m just trying to get through my missions and give my loot in and then a group of people, sometimes as much as 4 come up and attack me and take all my loot. I know that’s what the game is supposed to be like, but to put it simply I DON’T WANT TO PLAY LIKE THAT. I don’t mind seeing other players around once in a while and saying “Aye” or doing a little Jig with them and generally interacting a little bit, but outside of that I prefer to play by myself and it’s really disheartening when I spend the time to use my brain and skills to go and do these missions just to lose everything. Sure u still get the achievements, but it’s just lame. Why can’t people use their skills and do the missions without having to gang up on people in a COMPLETELY unfair fight?? And that’s the other thing, how does that make these people feel good?? Anything more than one on one,(because I always play by myself) that’s just not a fair fight at all. Personally even if I did play like that I wouldn’t feel good about it cuz I didn’t put in the work. Maybe that’s what some people like about it, but that’s why I’m saying there should be options. If u want to be a cut throat pirate fine. But I’ve literally NEVER attacked someone first and that’s because I don’t want to “win” that way. I get it, we’re playing as pirates here, but some people are a little ridiculous about it and it makes it not fun…..On another note tho I HAVE been lucky enough to come across some players like me, who DON’T NEED to attack other people to succeed in the game and are very friendly often times even giving me some of their loot. I’ve been playing for about 8 months now from the first time I played it so I’m in no way a rookie, but I’m even STILL discovering new things I can do in the game and I feel like I probably would’ve gotten EVEN further and played the game A LOT more often if it wasn’t for the A-Holes. Not TOO bad tho considering I think. Gold hoarder level 37 out of 50, Order of Souls level 32 out of 50 and merchant only level 20 out of 50 as I don’t enjoy those as much. Sometimes I’ll play for hours with no interruptions, other times I’m like 20 minutes in and I back out because what’s the point? Overall the creators of this game have done an EXCELLENT Job, I’m just not into the whole “Kill you and steal your S***” thing about the gameplay.
