You should watch this film to understand the human condition and to know that greatness as a sportsman does not define you as a human being. LaMotta is a paranoid misogynistic bully who pushes away those close to him and ultimately sqaunders the best of himself. Raging Bull is a cinematic masterpiece. The opening sequence is the best I have ever seen and the chemistry between DeNiro and Pesci is incredible.
