I am so completely confused. Did anyone read the series when creating this show? And all the five star reviews? Did none of them read the series? What is going on, did I watch a different show? It's terrible. The Virgin river series is without a doubt my favorite book series of all time I've read the books and listened to the audio books more times than I can actually count and the show only remotely resembles the books. Honestly the only thing similar are the names of the characters and a few of the back stories. I get it there has to be creative license when bringing a book to life but at the very least keep the general premis the same. I forced myself through the first season thinking it would eventually find its way. Nope, I had to stop after the third episode of the second season. It's gone so far off the rails there's no reason to even call it Virgin River at this point. I literally can not stand Charmaine who was no more then a afterthought in the books and Jack! Please do not get me started on how they ruined him. I just don't have words to describe what an absolute disappointment this show is.
