Three movies in one. Entertaining off the wall first 30%, 5% where you think this is entertaining but do I want to stay. And then suddenly the knife in the toilet scene and it doesn't look back. One part luck, one part not wasting any luck and one part good pal with firearms. Very entertaining overall with a minisicule budget. Low budget filmmaking only works when it is believable and this was way believable. Rotten Tomatoes thank you again.

A handsome movie, vaguely charming in some places, very creepy in others. Just a little amusing like his flicks in the 80's. But glad to see Pee Wee, or Paul Reuben, is making some money and not just headlines. (You do know about the old headlines?) Pee Wee is not a comedian for kids any more. This is, and parents should be aware of this, humor directed at gays and lesbians and other people who never grew up, whether the movie knows it or not, and sometimes movies don't know. So it is an incredibly bad choice to be shown to kids. Shame on you if you do. Your bad. And Netflix's if they are advertising it for small children or pre-teens. I give it two stars for the audience it's directed at and no stars at all for children! But some older kids to their parent's possible dismay will get a kick out to it. They may laugh at the raunchy bits and completely miss the inside jokes that parents will catch. Not for the Sunday school crowd, at least if your mom is like mine.

Excruciatingly slow but endlessly revealing. A question, where do she and her son go at night after dinner? It's hidden in darkness. Her sudden snapping at the end comes out of thin air but on second thought, considering how she seems to sleep walk through her days not that unbelievable. She just suddenly woke up. I admit I used the fast forward many many times to move through her dish washing etc.. But this film is built on walking us through her routines so that we see the person and her life before she crumples it all up and throws it away at the end. I was mesmerized. But I don't know if you will be. I give it five stars because I think it's that kind of movie..

(This fim has a 33% positive audience score on Rotten Tomatoes! That is a bad sign) I wanted to like it. But the plot is unbelievable. The mixed race marriage looks made up. Allowing a tenant to have access to her home with his own door into her space, when she is supposedly an agoraphobic, is really odd even if the plot requires it. Letting in a strange boy in the night who rings her door bell is odder. Is she frightened of people or not? Passing out on Halloween after opening her door is bizarre. Waking up back in her home with the mother of the strange boy asking her very personal questions takes unbelievability to the next level. The film tries to explain all this with a lot of wine drinking, pill popping and a terrible family secret that you don't know about until way in. But it isn't believable. The movie drags and doesn't make sense and then rises surprisingly into a crescendo of crazy violence at the end. It could have been great, or it could have been entertaining but what it is is disappointing because you like the cool atmosphere and Amy Adams, and the other actors, but it fails to support them with a decent plot and leaves you wishing you hadn't bothered. That is a low threshhold to fail at.

I liked the first season (and would have given it 5 stars!) but struggled more with the second (though would have given it 3 stars when compared to the competititon) but the sophmores doing the show's casting need to keep driving home that the show's hero, I mean villain, is woke. Look he's getting it on with yet another black woman! How anti-racist is that. Maybe serial killers do that I don't know or maybe the whole Netflix backlot is a a bubbling crockpot of halfbaked casting ideas to diversify all productions? Because that's what it feels like. Netflix had a cash cow here that could have served them for most of the decade. Why? Because I can stay interested in a compelling story line year after year even if it is ludicrous that he never gets caught (see Dexter). But woke twits decided to use the show as a bully pulpit. Oh my, watch the audience fly down the aisles and out of the auditorium. A show about not one woke serial killer but two. Why not six?

No more than one star because it's pretty unwatchable. Secretly, wink wink, it seems to be about toxic masculinity rather something more macabre. There is so little horror on Netflix worth watching.
