I just watched Stephen Sackur's dismal interview of Harvard law professor emeritus Laurence Tribe. Stephen Sackur was unrelentingly rude as he repeatedly interrupted professor Tribe and failed to allow him to finish the points he was endeavoring to make. ("Hang on, hang on...!") Instead of listening, Sackur mercilessly harangued professor Tribe, grandstanding and misrepresenting his opinions and analysis regarding the current - dangerously real - march toward autocracy in the United States. Professor Tribe is widely respected here, and the manner in which he was browbeaten was disgraceful. Sackur's pretense that he was merely concerned with presenting a more "balanced" view was insulting. Pity he doesn't invite Tucker Carlson or Sean Hannity from Fox News, that GOP overt propaganda machine that has constantly stoked divisions in this country by spreading lies and undermining democracy every single day of the Trump administration and since. Perhaps Sackur should rake them over the coals to disguise his own arrogance and bias as an interviewer.
