David Cronenberg had a way of creating a very eerie vibe in his movies. The original Rabid left me with a lifetime of this feeling, because I was much younger and more impressionable when I saw it. Marilyn Chambers was the original actress and did well enough, and the music in Cronenberg's version provided the eerie atmosphere in his movies. In the Soska version, Ms Vandivoort did an amazing job of acting, and she is gorgeous. The effects and makeup in the new version were also very well done. Her disfigurement from the motorcycle accident was amazingly realistic and lent to an honest feeling of heartbreak for her from it and the acting done by Vandivoort. This version has more action, violence and blood, but the basic theme is kept the same and the ending? Very Cronenburg-ish. Well done Soska Sisters!
