3/10. One of the worst movies I have ever paid to see. Joaquin Phoenix did a great job, but the rest of the movie was a disaster. The movie moved slowly and the scene selection had a lot of fluff. The storyline could have moved just as much if you edited out half the movie, which would have made more time for those darker Joker scenes. It’s a pretty shallow look at mental instability, which is understandably a hard thing to portray in a movie, but is the entire basis of this movie. Don’t waste your money, go watch Hustlers instead.
