Ryan Sampson is comedy GOLD. So funny in Plebs, I think I mainly watched because of Grumio. Found him in Brassic so that's next. Didn't know much about Danny Dyer till I found he was Royal on WDYTYA, brilliant stuff... and he's very good in this. Good cast, and can't go wrong with Adrian Scarborough. Only downside was it's a bit too sweary.

Giving it a 4 rather than a 3 as there are good actors in this and it is well made. Storyline doesn't always flow well but I did enjoy it mainly due to the acting. Like other reviews I think it struggles to know what genre it is and the last episode was frustrating so hope a second series is on the way soon.

Excellent cast on an appalling story that had to be told. What is so annoying is the people in charge have got away with it. Fine them and jail them! I'd also recommend 'The Great British Post Office Trial' on BBC Sounds.

Sadly very predictable, you know what they are going to say before they do. Poor script. Not scary either. Shame as it could have been so much better, there were some good actors in it. I'd say it's for teens rather than an adult audience. Plus couldn't work out how she'd fallen on the line when it was about 10 feet from where she fell and thought the ending was pinched from Ghost.

Watched for the first time tonight. Would be ok apart from Ramsey's juvenile swearing and racist comments calling Fred a frog. What an example he is. Wish they would stop giving him airtime.

Too disjointed, characters very one dimensional and dialogue really stilted and poor. Quite a disappointment, such a shame as some good actors although lead man is very wooden!

Good actors apart from female lead, who was a bit out of her depth in this, perhaps concentrating on getting the accent right rather than her character who was really unlikable although her younger version I had more empathy for. I got so bored and just skipped from 4th episode to the last to see whodunnit.

Ok but very Americanised view of England. Crickets chirping at night and the Union Jack in the classroom. Unlike the US we don't put our flag in the classroom or fly it in schools, well none I ever went to or my children. The children act well although their script is stilted and I'm getting a bit fed up of the main American lead and the strange northern accent of the narrator.

No just no. Only watched half an hour of this politically correct sunny drama. Yes there were black people in society then, and some were in the higher echelons (look up Dido Elizabeth Belle) but really??? If they wanted it to be set in the past I'd suggest the 2010s not 1810s or say it's set in an alternative universe. Costumes lovely but like the streets, too clean and perfect. Should be a disclaimer at the beginning to say this is not just fiction but an alternative reality to Britain at that time. It's an insult to all the black people who lived then and the abhorrent way they were treated and used

Just started watching - very good drama.
