Oh wow, people here didn't like this one. I'm not a matrix meathead so I had zero expectations and I didn't bother going back watch the old ones to revive my memory of the franchise. With that said, I loved this movie as a standalone. I was honestly entertained through and through. It has done far better than the other classics that tried to revive an old spark.

Importantly, my life has been changed. I feel educated and humbled by the strengthen of women who have gone through what the Alex character endured. Phenomenal acting!

Like any Angelina Jolie movie, you start-off with extremely high expectations and the promise of a great ride, but my is this movie the furthest thing from that. The plot holes are too idiotic to ignore. We didn’t get to find out what the boy was supposedly going to tell the media— at least it would explain Tyler Perry’s 3-minute appearance, plus if the audience knows what’s at stake for the bad guy, then we’ll root for the hero much more. It’s not the worst I have ever seen but I’ll definitely not remember it a week from now. Two stars for the little boy’s performance; totally understood the assignment.

Apparently, the consensus is that the people who read Clancy’s book—where this film was adapted, completely hated the movie. Not read the book, but going off the action scenes and phenomenal performance of Michael B Jordan, this was a good one. I can only judge it based on my level of amazement of the movie, that btw delivered tremendously by following what the action genre demands.

What a performance from Anthony Hopkins! Truly outstanding. The refreshing allure of this movie is that the writer/director tells this story through the mind of a dementia patient and not through the character’s caretakers/family. For a full 40 minutes, I believed in his sanity and everyone else was in on a ploy to make him look sick. That's how good this movie is... we are living in the mind of a dementia patient, therefore we too are mentally unbalanced. It's truly jarring to experience. I for once have a deep understanding and great sympathy for old people.

Don't have high expectations... It all goes downhill after the first 30-40 mins. Two stars for the cool cinematography and editing, otherwise, nothing big to fan out about. HOWEVER, the ending will blow your mind!

If you're going to watch a sequel to an iconic 80s movie then it must go full-on with references to the original. Nostalgia is primarily the thing that got most of us to watch Coming to America 2. Yes, the movie holds no candle to the original. The character arcs are confusing, the plot had multiple missteps (never heard of a war load that threatened a 👑 in his own palace and walked away unscathed), oh, and whose idea was it to make it PG13?! However, the main cast hoists the movie high enough to make it enjoyable. It won't leave a lasting mark but we were all delighted to revisit the character that is Prince Akeem and his world in Queens and Zamunda, and for that, the movie deserves a solid 3.5. PS: The barbershop is still lit! And Wesley Snipes did this thing!

Simply put, I went in expecting to get the full-on Andy Samberg experience and that’s exactly what I got. Period! It was cute movie but also a deep one. It had underlying concepts on life, love and relationships despite being a comedy genre.
