This game may not exist anymore but, this game is the best game I have ever played and if the developers were to remake this game, I would be first in line to play it. Due to the Wii shop not existing anymore, a lot of cool games don't exist such as Paper Mario, Altered Beast, Golden Axe, etc. It is sad to see as those were the type of games that completed our childhood and made people like myself fall in love with games. In 'my life as a king', your character is a king that enters an abandoned kingdom and the only way to bring life in this kingdom is by building houses and recruiting warriors and they explore the hidden cities around the kingdom and find treasure/crystals/money that the king can use to build houses/shops/taverns/bakery/inns/emporiums. Later on throughout the game, you get introduced to the story line and this is where things become interesting. You find out that the kings father used to run the kingdom before it became abandoned and that he is kidnapped by 'Darklord' (Devil). You then recruit more warriors and as they continue to oversee the lands and cities around the kingdom, you get more and more into the story and learn how the kingdom became abandoned and how the kings father was kidnapped. You then realise that the kings father is kept in a castle. As the warriors complete their missions, the last city to explore is Darklords city and this is where the king is kept. As the warriors explore and defeat the devil, the father then returns back to the kingdom and the inauguration then begins to make your character the official king of your kingdom.
The story line in this game is excellent and the music choice is beautiful. The soundtrack is one of the factors that makes you want to play this game more and more. It's more than just making buildings and creating a kingdom, it's a story and the more warriors you recruit and the more lands that are occupied, the more interesting the story becomes. I literally spent weeks and weeks playing this game as it was sooo good. The best part is, once you are finished and you choose to start again, you can continue your progression data and the same warriors that you recruited are back however, as they complete missions, your character gives them medals and this helps enhance their strengths and toughness levels. They become more stronger and they can then be able to complete missions more quicker and defeat the enemies more quicker. I finished this game around 8 times and I still wasn't bored of it. The nostalgia kicks in, hard! This review may be pointless as this game doesn't exist anymore but, it's best to put my opinion out there. Who knows? Maybe this game could be remade. Maybe someone may look at my review and encourage the developers to create this game and bring back the wii shop! Whatever the outcome, all I know is that this is the best game ever and I would definitely recommend this to sooo many gamers. This concludes my long but joyful review.
