The whole book reads like an adolescent's deluded self absorbed fantasy of being the penultimate hero of everything. All I could think, after a quarter of the way through, was that these were the deluded self absorbed fantasies of the author. Seriously, the protagonist can do no wrong, he's the smartest person on earth, the strongest fastest cleverest fearlessest ---blegh I tortured my poor ears in hope of a redeeming end. It never came. I went to the toilet after reading it to purge.
