(Xbox One review)
I decided to get this game after playing and enjoying The Call Of Cthulhu and the Sherlock Holmes: TDD. Personally I enjoyed this game quite a bit its certainly weird and creepy and captures the Lovecraft vibe. I'm sure this comparison has already been made but this game is essentially The Call Of Cthulhu mixed with Murdered: Soul Suspect.
The game is pretty long and has plenty of story and side missions to explore so you get your monies worth. It is a bit clunky and buggy in places which is a bit annoying but it's not unplayable by any means. There are several choices to make which means you can replay it again to explore the other outcomes and the achievements are pretty good fun to work though.
However, I found this game initially this actually gave me pretty bad motion sickness. When your character starts losing sanity the graphics have this stretchy ripple effect to show your are losing your mind and after a few mins of this it made me feel pretty spaced out. Maybe playing it on a massive OLED TV didn't help. Obviously everyone is different but it took some getting used to.
Other disappointment for me was the DLC - its not worth the money it doesn't add any new achievements and doesn't add to the story. I would say only get the DLC if its on sale.
Overall though I think this is a cool game. If you like Lovecraft, The Call Of Cthulhu, Murdered Soul Suspect or The Sherlock Holmes games I'm sure you would will enjoy this game.
