All of the 1 star reviews are either plants, people that didn't watch the movie, or people that simply don't understand the concept of what production was trying to personify and bring to life. I don't like blumhouse, me and husband sighed in disappointment when their little BH came across screen, but I'm so happy we watched it. It's one of the better, if not the best horrors they have done.
I don't want to give spoilers, but it's truly about what the synopsis says. It dives into the biggest monster that alot of us face, and that's our own demons. Our shadow self. If you have never TRULY had depression, this movie will go over your head. If you are a mother and never TRULY had depression, this movie will go over your head. The movie is showing us that she is grieving so she is neglecting herself and her home, not that she is a bad parent. This movie shows how grief coupled with an already untreated mental illness can turn into something very sinister and dark. I cried so hard. I wish that they put a trigger warning at the beginning because it was triggering. This was well executed. I don't regret watching it.
