The author is non-Indian; he doesnt belong to the native culture, but tries to tell a period story with a very misleading title. It is very clear he likes many of the wisdom in Indian culture- and, like all people who are half learnt in the Indic knowledge system, he too is confused. Good thing for him is- in pouring out his confusions, he has managed to write a best-selling novel. If you are an Indian- dont bother reading this book- your confusions will only exaggerate multifold.

Indian traditions are way of life- living has to be simple. This movie may seem slow for many; but in truth this movie is not slow, it is subtle (if you understand what the word means). It is for an audience who are believers of ideal, and seekers of truth, and beauty.

Amir Khan has done it again. He alone makes sensible movies that are not only socially relevent but it is also entertaining. He allows a script to shine based on its merit. And, there is a lot of honesty in his work.
