Beautiful and meaningful. This is a film worth watching.

Netflix has taken some pretty good books and turned them into a wooden adventure story. It's boring, gratuitous and nonsensical.

It's cringe TV. I've tried multiple times to watch it. I was hoping it was something I could watch with my kids. My guess is that my kids might think it's ok. As an adult, the show is just too ridiculous. The graphics, sets, and setting is absolutely beautiful. The characters are about as completedy as Saturday morning cartoon characters. Beautiful but goofy. I wish I were still ten years old. I might have been able to enjoy the show.

Outer Range explores how flawed people deal with forces beyond their understanding. It can be challenging to watch people you don't particularly admire slowly disintegrate on the screen. Yet the beautifully shot and acted show gives you ample time to contemplate both it's core mysteries and the diversions presented.

I'm three episodes in and I can't wait for what comes next. Jeff Bridges and John Lithgow are magnetic. The show is brutal and twisty with a couple of old guys giving performances that make us believe in the years they have put into their craft. It's brilliant.
