I was a little wary about this reinvention of the Child's Play movie. Modern tech, alongside replacing Brad Dourif's iconic Chucky voice with Mark Hamill didn't sound like a great idea, but after watching it I can say it's a really good horror movie. Mark Hamill does an amazing job of voicing the role of this much darker and more sinister version of Chucky.
Gone is the wild cackling and eccentric performance Brad Dourif brought to the role, alongside the more comedic elements the franchise became known for, but they're all replaced with a scarier, more unsettling atmosphere that most horror movies today fail to capture, and replacing the supernatural nature of Chucky with a more believable technological reason, along with the doll itself being some surprisingly good animatronics, makes the doll seem much more real, and as a result, much more terrifying. Well worth a watch for those that love Chucky or fans of horror movies.
