This movie was one of the most disgusting, horrendous movies I've ever seen. The movie was completely different from the show and the acting was terrible.
1. The main cast was mostly white-washed, all the characters that were good in the first season were white whereas in the show they were of different ethnicities and races. Katara and Sokka are more Indigenous/First Peoples and Aang is more Asian like from a Tibetan Monk
2. They mispronounced most of the characters' names wrong. It's understandable if it was just based on the comics but there is a literal TV Show! You clearly see how the characters' names are pronounced yet they insist upon changing Aangs name to Ong and Iroh's name to something like Eeroe. Along with many other insignificant characters, the names were spelt wrong.
3. The effects were nothing like the Show, it was like they got blobs of and tubes of water and they just got some fire and used CGI to move it around.
4. The choreography was horrible, the sacred bending art's movements were more like a martial art, Waterbending was fluid and elastic like Tai Chi, Earthbending was a more stubborn and sturdy martial art similar to Hung Ga. Firebending is a strong and beautiful art that looks like Northern Shaolin Kung Fu. Airbending is always done in a circular motion and releasing the built-up energy with lots of force like Baguzhang. In the movie, they were all like dances or just waving their hands around like telekinesis.
5. The acting was terrible, with a small exception to Zuko and Yue and a select few, the acting was just terrible, with weird forced crying and strange facial movements, it looked like they starred 7-year-olds to play the main parts.
6. The directing and shooting was just weird, with strange close-up shots and wobbly cameras, it just looked really strange as if you hired a first-time director and a cameraman who was texting their friend.
There are more reasons to list but this movie was just a horrible one. Good thing another live-action is being made which is going to have a much higher budget.
