This was a hot mess of a decent novel sequel. I really canโt fathom why directors think they can improve on a hit by adding their unoriginal ideas. The movie barely touched on Dannyโs struggle with alcoholism, guilt, familial ties & redemption. The acting was on par but ruined by contrived storytelling. Mike Flanagan just should have called it The Shining 2: Return to the Overlook Hotel. ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ
