I don’t have a problem with the show not being about aliens but the cinematography is horrible. Episode 6 might as well have been shot in a blacked out cave. It’s cute that we’re supposed to feel doom with bluish black filters and I’m sure it saved lots on not having to show much but it’s tiresome after a couple episodes to see anything unless sitting in a blacked out cave yourself.

I am a HUGE original Wonder Years fan. I have seen it all the way through at least 10 times, the first time with my grandmother. I’ll never forget it. I see real promise with the 2021 first season Dulé Hill is a great actor and modern version of the 60’s dad. Saycon Sengbloh is a sting woman ahead of her time playing Dean’s mom. It’s a tear-jerking theme of one of the early episodes in Season 1. This show is good and clean and a refreshing add to Prime Time. Good social notes, not overly political, funny. I’m loving it.

The concept is good, but we’ve seen it many times before. A mutiny against some government-appointed hero who has all the skills by the tough guy ego maniac. Race through space to get the answers about a harmonically communicative alien presence. Is like Close Encounters meets Arrival and Contact, just poorly executed. The poor actors are all talented but the writing seemed to be a race to the bottom of how many unnecessary F-Bombs and JCs could be squeezed into 46 minutes. I just could not finish 3 episodes. I’m afraid this is quite the fail. It gets 0 points from me.
