I just finished reading Nowhere Near First and I thought it was fantastic! If you've every thought about running an ultra, read this book! Cory's writing style is so engaging. He's funny and entertaining and he makes running a 100 miles seem doable! He doesn't pretend it's easy, and his honesty makes you think, he did it, I think I can too! My biggest take-away was, don't worry about your time, just try to have as much fun as you can. I'm a back of the pack runner too and it's so nice to read a book about running written by someone that I can relate to. He wrote about being 3 miles into a 100 mile run and wanting to quit. That's a scary thought, but he didn't quit. That really encourages me!
