Saw this for the first time nearly 18 years after its airdate. It has not aged well. The makeup effects are pretty terrible. The villain of the first 4 episodes is poorly written. Some basic background effects in car scenes are awful. The voiceover by Dakota Fanning is like if Rod Serling were a little girl... that's not a compliment. It's pretty rough stuff. Not a great miniseries - and you'll certainly find better with Spielberg's name attached - but there are nuggets of interesting ideas here and there. Just wish it had better execution. Series writer and co-executive producer, Leslie Bohem (Dante's Peak, The Darkest Hour), is more likely to blame for some of that.
